1. Introduction

Progga Foundation ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Daily Islam mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you provide

  • Account data: When you register or log in (email, password, name, profile picture if you use Google or Facebook login).
  • Prayer and religious practice data: Salat records, Siam/fasting records, and similar data you save in the app (stored on our servers when you are logged in).

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system, app version (e.g. for compatibility and support).
  • Push notification token: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications. We store your FCM token on our servers only to deliver notifications you have agreed to.
  • Location: Approximate or precise location may be used to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. You can deny location permission; the app may then use a default location.

3.3 Third-party login

If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive the profile information you allow (e.g. name, email, profile picture) from those providers. Their own privacy policies apply to that sign-in process.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the app (Quran, Hadith, prayer times, Qibla, etc.).
  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • Send push notifications (e.g. prayer times, reminders) if you have allowed them.
  • Store and sync your prayer/Siam records and preferences when you are logged in.
  • Improve the app, fix errors, and ensure security.
  • Comply with applicable law.

5. Third Parties We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only as follows:

  • Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for push notifications (FCM). Google's privacy policy
  • Google Sign-In: Used only for login; see Google's privacy policy above.
  • Facebook Login: Used only for login; Facebook's privacy policy
  • Our servers: Your account data, FCM token, and app-related data (e.g. salat records) are stored on our backend to provide the service.
  • Legal: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

6. Data Retention

  • Account and profile data: Kept while your account is active; you can request deletion (see Section 8).
  • FCM token: Stored until you uninstall the app or withdraw notification permission; we may remove it when it is no longer valid.
  • Prayer/religious records: Stored on our servers while your account exists; deleted when you request account deletion, unless we must keep them for legal reasons.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures (e.g. HTTPS, secure storage of tokens) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; we take reasonable steps to reduce risk.

8. Your Rights

You may:

  • Access: Ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data (e.g. via in-app settings or by contacting us).
  • Opt out of push notifications: Disable notifications in your device settings or in the app.
  • Withdraw consent: Where we rely on consent (e.g. location, notifications), you can withdraw it at any time.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

9. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or higher age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected a child's data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version in the app or on our website and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
